I got an SSD on a Black Friday deal; it was finally time to move Windows from a spinning disk. I was apprehensive because in my past experience using anything but a full-fat product key would lead to issues. I even considered imaging my old disk to the new SSD.
Well Microsoft really did make it a hell of a lot easier: Media Creation Tool.
Stick a USB in, download the tool and follow the instructions. Eventually when it asked for my product key, I gave it my Windows 8 Pro upgrade key (from Windows 7) and it worked fine.
A pleasant surprise from Microsoft for once!
